PEUGEOT
BREAK 4X4 DANGEL

VIN. #VF355101101976634

- ONLY 500 PRODUCED IN ALL, THIS IS ONE OF THE 20 KNOWN TO BE IN EUROPE, AND THE ONLY ONE IN ITALY
- DELIVERED NEW TO THE FRENCH EMBASSY IN LIBYA
- A VERY EARLY SUV; DECORATIVE WRAPPING ON THE SIDES TELLING ITS STORY
- PETROL ENGINE, ITALIAN DOCUMENTS

Of the approximately 5,000 4x4 Peugeot Dangels to roll off the production line, just 500 were 505 Breaks. What is more, they were headed for North Africa where, on reaching the end of their life, they became a source of spare parts. Only a few of these came back to Europe and the ones with petrol engines are particularly rare. Given the size and visual impact of this car, you certainly don’t go unnoticed when you’re at the wheel of it: it stands high from the ground and features a distinctive white and green color scheme that, close up, is found to consist of a wrapping decorated with words telling its story. This Dangel, commissioned by the French Embassy in Tripoli for the Leptis Magna archaeological site, remained in Libya wearing diplomatic plates until 2014, when it was imported into Italy. Shortly afterwards, considering the importance and rarity of the model, especially one like this with a 2-liter petrol engine (this one has now traveled about 40,000 km), it underwent a careful restoration. With its four-wheel traction with constant grip, ten-gear gearbox and locking center differential, this is a true off-road vehicle. Ideal both for mountain terrain in winter and for isolated beaches, it is also perfectly suited to fashionable city life, thanks to its contemporary spirit.
