PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE CAKE
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE CAKE CROCK WITH COVER, salt-glazed, approximately two-gallon capacity, truncated cylindrical form with squared rim, six incised shoulder rings, applied arched handles, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Bold brushed cobalt horizontal flowers repeated twice to each side with additional cobalt to handle terminals and drape below, cover with flower and feather design repeated five times around edge with additional cobalt around finial. Attributed to the Richard C. Remmey pottery. 1870-1885. 6 3/4" H, 11 3/4" D rim.
Crock undamaged; cover with minor flake to exterior edge, professional restoration to flange, and minute flake to finial.
