PHILIP STANDISH READ (1927-2000, American) Abstract, Florida Artist

Oil on canvas 48 x 36 in. hilip Standish Read was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York and trained at the Art Students’ League and the Académie Julian. After relocating to the Palm Beaches, Read designed at least one program cover for the Palm Beach Heart Ball, as evidenced by clippings on the reverse of one of his Venetian fantasy gouaches.
