A sack-cloth banner, made from an old rice sack. 820 x 1700 mm. One face with a central American Eagle its claws holding the Stars and Stripes and the National flag of the Philippines, titled below "Philippines 1945". Some light wear to edges, a few tears along old folds.
An interesting Filipino banner, probably drawn up by the local population to hang over a shop or house, for the celebrations that took place, after the signing of the Japanese Surrender of the Philippines on September 2nd 1945.
