PAIR OF SCONCES

circa 1923
nickeled-steel, alabaster
9 x 23 x 8 in. (22.8 x 58.4 x 20.3 cm) each

Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, alabaster presents with rich and varied veining. Nickeled steel surfaces present with scattered areas of oxidation, consistent with the natural aging process of the material over time. Some scattered very faint scratches, concentrated to the areas surrounding the screws and pins and consistent with age and gentle use. One alabaster panel with evidence of previous repair has been sensitively and professional stabilized. abaster panels present with scattered scratches and some edgewear, consistent with age and use. A very nice example of this iconic design, elegantly combining alabaster and metal. When viewed with illumination, the alabaster would present with a warmer hue. Each sconce fitted with American two-prong socket. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.
