PIPE CASED MASS, ARMS CO MAYNARD PRIMED POCKET REV

SERIAL NUMBER 349 BARREL 3" CALIBER 28 PERCUSSION MANUFACTURED 1851-1860. A very limited quantity of these unique Maynard tape primes .28 cal, revolvers were produced by the Mass, Arms, co. with an estimate of 1500-2500 total. Blue finished with tip-up barrel and automatically revolved cylinder. Varnished smooth walnut grip panels with single retaining screw, Serial numbered on internal barrel flat with assembly number 99 found on frame, primer door and frame. Revolver is cased in a European style leatherette case with dual hinges and brown velvet lining. Inclusive of casing is bone cap container and balls. Top Strap of pistol is marked " MASS ARMS CO CHICOPPER FALLS" primer gate is marked " MAYNARDS PATD, APRIL 1845" backstrap is marked 'PATENT JAN 2 1845" CONDITION. Very good with finish having toned to chocolate patina mixed with blue. All legends are crisp and legible. Action operates. Case is very good with solid hardware and some minor flaking of leatherette covering at corners or edges. ANTIQUE
