Second collected edition in Greek, first edition of the commentaries of Proclus. This handsomely printed edition is only preceded by that of the 1513 Aldine. 'That Plato should be the first of all the ancient philosophers to be translated and broadcast by the printing press was inevitable' (PMM).

2 parts in 2 volumes, folio (340 x 220mm). Text in Latin and Greek, woodcut historiated initials, with final blank in vol. I (occasional light spotting and some light marginal worming). Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine (some staining and chipping, heavier on spine of vol. I). Provenance: some early Greek annotations at the beginning of vol. II. (2)

Esemplare marginoso e dal carattere elegante della seconda edizione delle Opere e prima con il commentario di Procolo. Questa Edizione fu preceduta solo da quella di Aldo del 1513. Provenienza: alcune antiche annotazioni in greco all'inizio del vol. II. (2)
