OVERVIEW:

The Porsche 911 Type 997 debuted in late 2004 and successfully replaced the controversial Type 996 (with its “fried egg” headlights shared with the Boxster). The 997 thus marked a return to the 911’s stylistic roots: round headlights, curved fenders, and a distinctive silhouette that pays homage to the air-cooled 911s. The 997 naturally carved out its place in the history of the 911, the legendary model that epitomizes the Porsche brand. Produced from 2005 to 2008, the first 997s (Phase 1) were equipped with the famous 3,596 cm³ flat-six engine, producing 325Ch and 370Nm of torque. Paired with the excellent 6-speed manual transmission, they deliver impressive performance figures, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 285 km/h. With its relatively compact dimensions and modest weight (1,480 kg), the 911 remains the ultimate versatile sports car. Offering an excellent balance between comfort and sportiness, it delivers an easy and engaging driving experience, coupled with reliability and maintenance costs that no rival can match.

The Chartres dealership is pleased to offer this 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera. It is a convertible model featuring a midnight blue exterior with a blue soft top and a gray leather interior. The body is in good overall original condition with few signs of wear, which is rare for a vehicle from the Paris region and speaks to the care the car has received—a fact also consistent with the odometer reading: 68,186 km (not guaranteed). The triple-layer canvas top is in decent original condition and operates satisfactorily. The interior is in good overall condition with some signs of wear; the original leather upholstery is in good condition, and the original floor mats are protected by custom-made carpet mats. The vehicle registration certificate is missing, but a valid technical inspection report from March 2025 lists the information regarding the vehicle’s first registration on September 19, 2006, and its ANTS-format registration on November 28, 2011. Owned by the same owner since 2011, this 997 underwent maintenance at an independent Porsche specialist in 2013 at 53,535 km for a wheel alignment. At the time of this writing, this is the only information available regarding its maintenance history. The vehicle starts and runs perfectly, with no battery issues (sometimes a weak point for this model). A test drive reveals satisfactory handling; however, a full service and the replacement of the worn tires (2016 & 2017) are recommended before you can fully enjoy the sporty performance available at the slightest touch of the accelerator.

This Porsche 911, a 997-series convertible, embodies the quintessential versatile sports car, suitable for both daily use and driving for pleasure. In recent years, it has become a vehicle whose value no longer depreciates. With its status as a classic already established, this 911 may one day qualify for collector’s status, further guaranteeing the value of a vehicle that is already exceptional. Driving with the top down, feeling the wind in your hair, and listening to the flat-6 engine paired with the manual transmission offers an authentic experience that is increasingly rare and sought-after.
