Pair of bronze busts of emotional babies in the manner of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt (Austrian 1736-1783), early 20th century, depicting one child laughing and one crying, each rising on a rouge marble columnar plinth, having no apparent marks. Approximate dimensions: busts h. 7. 5"; overall h. 12", dia. 4. 25".
Condition Report: Both having minor scratches to finish associated with cleaning, 1" areas of white reside to backs of heads, metal rings at bottoms of plinths are loose in that they move up and down, pieces present well.
