Edme Samson et Cie (French, 1845-1969), 19th century. Pair of famille rose porcelain baluster-form wall vases in the Chinese taste, having chinoiserie decoration, each flanked by two boys, possibly the Immortals Hehe Erxian, on bronze rococo style bases. Each marked "France" to the back. Note: Factory model no. 439. A matched pair sold at Christie's, London, England, Collection De Madame X, live auction 6806, March 3, 2004, lot 334, for GBP 1,076. Approx. of one, h. 7", w. 5.5", d. 2.5".
Condition Report: Some loss to decoration; vases are mounted to bases; no apparent chips, cracks or restorations when examined under ultraviolet light.
