PRE WAR COLT ARMY DETROIT POLICE REVOLVER- 1925

SERIAL 520463. BARREL 5". CALIBER .38 SPECIAL. MADE IN 1925. Factory nickel six shot double action engraved Detroit Police on back strap and stamped No. 3955 on butt. Prohibition became the law of the land in 1920 and the Detroit police were on the front lines of bootleggers as they were literally a stones throw from Canada. Numerous shoot outs are recorded involving the police. Made in 1925, this puts the offered Colt right in the thick of things. It shows usual holster wear on high edges but still retains at least 85% original nickel. The silver medallion checkered walnut grips show usual wear. Gun indexes and locks up like new.
