SERIAL 140452. BARREL 4". CALIBER .38 SPECIAL. MADE IN 1916. Factory nickel six shot double action engraved Detroit Police on back strap and stamped No. 3053 on butt. Prohibition became the law of the land in 1920 and the Detroit police were on the front lines of bootleggers as they were literally a stones throw from Canada. Numerous shoot outs are recorded involving the police. Gun shows usual holster wear on high edges but still retains at least 90% original nickel. The original gutta percha grips show usual wear with two small chips at base. Gun indexes and locks up like new. Bore is sharp. C&R*
