A pair of oiled leather batwing chaps and wrist guards, the chaps with large, buck-stitched pockets and toggle closures. The tooled belt likewise buck-stitched and stamped, N. PORTER PHOENIX AZ. The wrist guards likewise tooled. All as found. The set was originally owned by John S. Lenox (1850-1929,) owner of the 7NX Ranch in Sierra County, New Mexico. and passed on to his son, Sam Lenox 1892-1951,) owner of the Wahoo Ranch in Socorro, New Mexico (see last image below.) N. Porter Saddlery & Harness Co. was established in Phoenix, AZ. in 1895. Late 19th- early 20th century. Overall length 90cm. Condition IV
