Craftsmanship and Quality Traditionally Reserved for the Elite of the French
Court, A Stunning Family Heirloom to be Enjoyed by the Entire Family for

Assortment of 5 Serving Pieces.

In 1820, Jean-Baptist Fuchs and the
Puiforcat brothers (Joseph-Marie and Emile) entered
into a partnership to produce high quality silver
products creating The House of Puiforcat - now owned
by Hermes. Since inception the House of Puiforcat
has been recognized as France's premier supplier of
high quality sterling silver flatware and tableware
products known for their elegant, traditional
styling and legendary quality. This set dates from
the early 1900s and is the much sought after "Directoire"
Model. In the history of the arts of the table, "Directoiret"
flatware stands out as a central collection. It was
created in the 18th century by silversmith
François-Thomas Germain. The following century,
another legend of silversmithing, Martin-Guillaume
Biennais, prompted a renewed enthusiasm for its
gentle curves and the stunning balance of its
design. Since then, this model has known
uninterrupted success on the most elegant tables.

These pieces are of unparalleled
quality and workmanship, intricately crafted to the
highest standards in sterling silver and vermeil
(gold plated sterling silver) - definitely not for
the "common folk". The
set is in excellent condition and it seems that some
of the pieces have never been used. Included are 10
original Puiforcat anti-tarnish storage wraps for
easy storage. Each piece in this luxurious set bears
the hallmark of Master French Silversmith Emile
Puiforcat in addition to the French Government's
Head of the Minerva - 1 Hallmark, certifying a
minimum of 950 sterling silver; although before the
1930s the House of Puiforcat used 958 sterling
silver in their flatware pieces. There are no
monograms on any of the pieces. This set is of
exceptional quality and craftsmanship (check the
