A makeshift mask.
20th century.Height: 27 cm.Made of light wood, the face is covered with a layer of worn white kaolin and red plaster around the lips. It features a bicoque hairstyle. The rim of the mask bears the marks left by the numerous fine pins used to secure successive layers of masking fabric. The back of the mask reveals traces of carving with an adze.
