"Demenagement, ou Charrette Revolutionnaire" from Series 347 (Bloch 1677), 1968. Etching and aquatint on BFK Rives paper, signed in pencil lower right, numbered 25/50 in pencil lower right, date June 30, 1968 in reverse in plate upper right, in a custom silver frame with linen lining, overall 28" x 31". Provenance: private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, acquired at Franklin Bowles Galleries, New York, New York, NY, in 1999.

The 347 Series or 347 Suite is a series of etchings by the Pablo Picasso executed between March 16 and October 8, 1968, when Picasso was in his 80s, which are among the last hand-signed etchings and engravings he ever created. Each of the original plates being etched or engraved was by the hand of Picasso alone. The work was Picasso's largest in terms of the number of individual prints in the series; and his penultimate large etching series before the 156 Series of 1969-72. It was dedicated to his friend Jamie Sabartes. No name was given by Picasso to the series. The 347 series was first displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago and Paris's Gallerie Lousie Leris in 1970. Picasso was assisted by the Parisian printers Aldo and Piero Crommelynck, who had established an etching workshop near Picasso's Mougins residence.

Condition: Good, very faint mat line around perimeter of image 1-1/2" from plate, minor yelowing to outer margins.
