[ translate ]

Packard Custom Eight 1949, unique in beautiful condition. The American Packard stood for pure luxury. This Custom Eight variant from 1949 demonstrates this, delivered new in America and since the 80s in the Netherlands. The Packard’s nickname was the Pregnant Elephant because of its shape. This car comes from a private collection and is ready for a new adventure. This Custom 8 was restored in the early 1990s and then used at various drives and events. The Packard then ended up in a collection. The ivory exterior has an imposing front with a lot of chrome. The exterior is in good condition with signs of wear. A beautiful detail is the working searchlight on the roof! The interior is stunning! Fitted with beautiful fabric upholstery finished in detail with small chrome details. The original dashboard has a wood-look made of metal with beautiful instrumentation. You can control and turn on the searchlight on the roof from the cockpit. A beautiful detail is the radio which is completely recessed in the dashboard. The fabric upholstery was replaced in the past and therefore in beautiful condition, the other parts of the interior are original. Technically, the Packard has a very impressive 5,833cc 8-cylinder in-line engine with 160 HP. It has a completely new (NOS) 3-speed gearbox, unique and original. The starter was recently fully overhauled for more than €2,200. The Packard drives, brakes and shifts well. However, the car needs to be checked after standing still for a long time. It drives, brakes and shifts, the car can be driven. But we still recommend a trailer during collection. The Custom Eight is one of the most luxurious versions and is rarely seen. This car is in good condition and is ready to be used! Registration: AR-66-83 (Dutch) Year: 1949 Engine: 5,833 cc 8-cylinder in-line engine (160 hp/118 kw) Gearbox: 3-speed manual The car can be viewed in Gorinchem, the Netherlands.
