Paint-decorated Calfskin Masonic Apron, probably Massachusetts, late 18th century, signed "Brother Mo. Marsh. Jun" along the top edge, above an arrangement of Masonic symbols below, (minor discoloration, wear to some pigments), lg. 17 1/2 in.
Provenance: Moses Marsh, Quincy, Massachusetts.
Note: A note with the apron reads "This apron belonged to and was worn by Great Grandfather Moses Marsh born July 5th 1744 in Quincy Mass. He was father of Lewis Marsh who was born in 1791 and Grandfather of George C. Marsh of Jesup Iowa whose birthplace was Rockingham Vermont.
