Painted Theorem on Velvet
Title: Painted Theorem on Velvet
Provenance: Offering a beautiful painted on velvet theorem of a fruit basket. The work is set in an early 19th c. gilded frame with original glass. It was painted and signed "Jean B." by artist Jean Bauman who lived in Plantsville Conn. in 1965. It is wonderfully rendered in period fashion and could easily be passed off as 19th c. art. However, she was careful to provide her name, town and date on the back of the work to prevent that happening. We have priced the theorem reasonably as a special vintage work of art presented in an authentic period frame, that has significant value itself, which will enhance any collection of fine antiques.
