The Pastoral scene of two lovers at a well is quite rare in reverse glass painting, more often one sees religious scenes or classical depictions. This painting could be inspired by François Boucher (1703-1770) . Known for his pastoral scenes. This reverse glass painting is in good condition, considering the age and material. Some little losses of paint in the lower corners. The details in the painting and the facial expressions are very well done. The frame is of a later late: XIX century.
