44 (of 48) volumes bound in 16 (lacking Vols. 3, 46, 47, 48). Printed on double leaves. Collotype illustrations throughout reproducing paintings. 41.5x22.7 cm (16¼x9"), side-stitched wrappers, paper labels in Chinese, set in single blue cloth chitsu with bone clasps.

Important record of the many Chinese paintings in the Palace Museum, the national museum of China, compiled about five years after its founding in the recently vacated Forbidden City. Label at the back of the first volume indicates purchase, possibly in 1931. at the Altfield Gallery in Hong Kong.
