C. Alan Johnson (American, 1926-2013) "Ahtoon" 1962. A charming pair of ceramic children entitled "Ahtoon" by Alaskan artist C. Alan (Bud) Johnson (active/lived in Alaska, 1926-2013), with hand painted details. The children are presented sitting with their feet peeking out from under the hem of their fur coats. The "Ahtoon" figures were first made in 1958 with later renditions, such as this pair, and are highly collectible! Size: 3" L x 2.25" W x 4" H (7.6 cm x 5.7 cm x 10.2 cm)

According to the Anchorage Daily News, "Alan was a talented sculptor and watercolorist and the designer of the much loved Alaska figurines. With his artist wife, he co-founded the C. He completed his last painting in 2010 which depicts the FV Thelma C, a historic Alaska salmon fishing boat." (Anchorage Daily News, March 26-April 1, 2013)
