Pair Cast Iron Dutch Boy & Girl Banks
Height: 6 inches (Girl) Height: 4.5 inches (Boy). This set of two cast iron still banks is designed in the form of a Dutch girl and a Dutch boy. Each bank is constructed from two halves of painted cast iron joined together. The female figure is modeled wearing a large, wide-brimmed bonnet decorated with a green wreath and pink flowers, a yellow short-sleeved dress with a pink floral pattern, and black shoes. She stands on a green mounded base. The back of the figure features a single recessed metal screw that secures the casting. The number 400A is handwritten in black ink across the top rear of the bonnet. The male figure is depicted wearing a flat-topped black hat, a blue shirt, and black overalls with crossed straps at the back. A coin slot is positioned horizontally between the shoulders. Below the slot, there is a circular opening for a screw, although no screw is present. The lower back of the boy figure, between the feet, features an embossed mark arranged in three lines reading MADE IN U.S.A.
