Pair Cast Iron Longfellow Bookends
4 in. Tall; cast iron on bottom. A pair of cast iron bookends finished with a dark brown patina. Each bookend features a high-relief profile portrait of the American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, depicted with his characteristic full beard and hair. Below the bust, the design includes a relief of a quill pen resting in an inkwell. The background of the portraits and the reverse sides of the bookends feature a textured, hammered effect.
