Pair Cleveland Ohio Seltzer Siphons

This lot features two American clear glass seltzer siphon bottles from Cleveland, Ohio, dating to the mid-20th century. Both bottles are constructed of heavy, thick-walled glass and are fitted with cast metal heads and internal glass tubes. The first bottle is acid-etched on the body with the text CONTENTS 28 OZ. above a circular seal reading THE MILLER BECKER CO. MINERAL WATER TRADE MARK. Inside the seal is a diamond shape containing the monogram THE M. B. CO. The bottom of the etching reads REGISTERED CLEVELAND, O. and DO NOT FILL. A yellow paper label is adhered to the neck, which reads DEPOSIT COLLAR, Refund Paid For Return of Syphon With Collar, and THE MILLER BECKER CO. CLEVELAND, OHIO. The second bottle is etched with a top arch reading DIRECT TO YOU, a central stylized monogram above the word WINE, and the base text 3807 LORAIN AVE. CLEVELAND, O. This bottle also retains a matching yellow paper DEPOSIT COLLAR neck label. Both metal siphon heads feature stamped markings on the collar near the spout, but the characters are not clearly legible as a name or brand. Height: 12.5 inches to the top of the handle lever.
