Pair Neoclassical Candlesticks - Napoleon III - Bronze - Late 19th century

A beautiful and striking pair of Neo-Grec style candlesticks dating to the Napoleon III period, circa 1870 originating from France. The candlesticks are completed in patinated bronze and are very close to the style of Ferdinand Barbedienne. The candlesticks consist of a column adorned with foliage swags and decorated with a tulip rim. The bases are in the form of three monopodia legs with Ancient Greek Theatre Masks. The bases of the columns are completed with ormolu finials. Towards the bottom of the columns, an engine turned band wraps around in the shape of small diamonds. Approximate dimensions: 17. 5 cm high x 9. 5 cm wide Overall condition: Overall, the candlesticks are in excellent condition, with no damage to them retaining all of their original parts.
