Pair Of Mongolian Silver Plated Lidded Urns, Jade Insets

DESCRIPTION: Two matching lidded silver plated urns, each crowned on its lid with four dragons surrounding a double gourd supporting a carved jade finial fashioned with chilong (hornless dragons) in high relief. Lid sides are decorated with dragon and foliage designs and semi-precious stone insets, and body is adorned with turquoise insets surrounding carved, open-work jade insets in the form of a bird among aquatic foliage. Each piece bears two handles, each inset with jade, and each piece is supported by three legs topped with open-mouthed, horned beasts flanked by open-work, foliage form skirts finished with coral and semi-precious stone insets.
