French carved "escabelle" ( translates to "stool") , side chair, stool from the Swiss Alps, three-legged chair from France, circa 1900 . This piece bring " lived in " soulfull charm in a hallway, bedroom or living room , warming a mid century or modern interior , classic antique makes a great counter point to mass produced furniture and accessories .
It originated during the Renaissance by women, who had very large dresses, and who could not sit on armchairs.
Perriand was inspired by those simple line in the later design.
