Pair of Ancient Southeast Asian Bronze Items
**First Time At Auction**
Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son (Dongson) culture, ca. 500 BCE to 0 CE; Thailand, Ban Chiang, ca. 300 BCE. A great set of ancient bronze items, one a tool and the other a weapon. Second is a lengthy Ban Chiang bronze dart with a thin shaft and a triangular point, designed to be used on the battlefield. A fine study group of ancient Southeast Asian bronzes! Size of largest (dart): 6.375" L (16.2 cm).
Provenance: ex-collection of the late John Piscopo, San Diego, California, USA
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.
#131869
Condition Report: Dart repaired from three large pieces. Both items have age-commensurate surface wear, with small nicks to bodies and handles, and some discoloration, otherwise very good. Nice earthen deposits as well as green patina throughout.
