Audubon F.R.S.F.L.S.". Also marked "Drawn On Stone By R. Trembly & Printed By Nagel & Weingartner N.Y.". (Octavo Mammals)
AUDUBON, John James (1785 - 1851). Audubon’s extensive travel and study of birds fueled his aspiration to produce a similarly monumental record of the quadrupeds native to North America. He believed that this study would serve as an appropriate culmination of his life’s work to create a complete scientific record of the animals of this continent.

Material: Hand-colored lithographs framed under glass.

Dimensions: Image size: Height: 6 1/4"; Width: 8 1/2". Framed: Height: 14 3/4"; Width: 15 1/2".

Condition: Minor wear to frames. Art not examined out of frame.

Age: Produced between 1845 and 1848.

Provenance: Private Estate.
