first quarter 20th century, on leaf-carved circular backplates, the leaf-carved, torch-form candle holders fluted and flaring at the tops.

Condition Report: There are two repairs to carved acanthus leaf work on one sconce. Notable repairs have been done to the leaf work on the second example. Both sconces have scattered losses to leaf tips and nicks and scratches to gilding and gesso. Backs of sconces have cut-outs from previous mounting plates. Current bronze mount plates are marked with a "C" in a lozenge for E. F. Caldwell.
