Pair of Chinese Bronze Hu Vases, Ming or Earlier
A pair of Chinese bronze hu vases with bands of taotie mask and geometric designs dating from the Ming dynasty or earlier. Each vase has a pair of beast head handles.
Dimensions are: 7 3/4 inches tall X 3 3/4 inches wide, 19.7 cm X 9.5 cm. Weight: 1400 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Significant oxidation to both. One handle of one vase has been reattached.
Provenance: From Mr. Brow in Honolulu, Hawaii. The lot is an heirloom that has been in the family for over 40 years.
