Pair of Chinese Canton Enamel Plates, Qianlong
A pair of Chinese Canton enamel plates dating from the 18th century. The interiors feature a roundel of four women in a garden scene. The roundel is surrounded by four quatrefoils with fruit and flowers on a turquoise ground with lotus tracery. The exteriors of the plates have yellow grounds with bats and floral tracery and four mythical beasts. The bottom has a 6-character mark.
Dimensions: 1 3/4 inches tall X 10 1/2 inches diameter; 4.44 cm tall X 26.67 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are minor firing cracks to the bottoms, but they are in overall good condition.
Provenance: From a private Pennsylvania collection.
