Pair of Chinese Glazed Earthenware Foo Dogs, 19th c., with cubs on their backs, in mottled gray and brown glaze, H.- 7 in., W.- 9 in., D.- 5 1/2 in.
Condition Report: Figure 1 (Female) – Condition AS IS. Tail of small dog figure on back has tail broken off, and it is not present. There are two areas of exposed clay at that loss, approx. ¾ in. loss and ¼ in. loss. Tip of both ears of main dog are broken off, as well as proper left teeth. Proper left foot of small dog figure under paw has broken off. Figure 2 (Male) – Condition AS IS. Proper right front and back paws of small lower dog are broken off. Proper left back paw of small lower dog shows signs of repair, where it was broken off at one point and then reattached. Proper right ear of main dog was broken at the tip and then painted over.
