Pair of Chinese Kangxi Polychromed Porcelain Foo Dogs Bud Vases, c. 1700, the bottom with a tag from Henry Stern Antiques, New Orleans.H.- 7 3/4 in., W.- 3 1/2 in., D.- 2 in.
Condition Report: Vase 1 (with smaller dog figure under paw) – One petal has broken off at the tip of the stem. Bottom teeth of proper right side are broken off. Small areas of loss approx. 1/8 in. near neck embellishment of dog. Minor firing flaws throughout. Bottom leg of smaller dog figure is cracked where it meets the body but the crack does not go all the way through. Vase 2 (with post under paw) – Two petals broken off at the tip of the stem. The proper right ear has 1/8 in. chip at back of ear. Firing flaws leaving streak of black bumps along back.
