Footnote:
Charles Weaver trained at Worcester from about 1853 until he joined Copelands in 1869, where he worked on special productions until 1877. Weaver's work was regularly featured at the international exhibitions during this time. It is likely the present pair of covered vases were shown in Copeland's 1871 display. Weaver had a son, Charles, who also worked at Copelands.
Condition Report: In generally good condition. Light wear to gilding and decoration overall. Museum wax remnants on covers, rims and bases of vases. Firing cracks visible where flange joins rim on each. Some scattered abrasions overall. Some areas of light crazing. One small flake in a crazed patch to a turquoise area near base of vase. A few scattered pinpricks.
