Pair of Figural Marion Bronze Bookends of John Harvard
Pair of antique bookends by Marion Bronze. The bronze-clad bookends depict John Harvard. Sculptor of the original is Daniel Chester French; now in Harvard Yard. The Marion Bronze Co of Metuchen, New Jersey purchased the molds and electroplating tanks from Pompeian Bronze in 1922. Known for its beautifully painted and highly polished electroformed bookends, Marion Bronze was sold in 1958, and continued operating in Scotch Plains, New Jersey until 1971. [8 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W x 7" D]. Very minor losses.
