Pair of French Marble & Bronze Compotes

DESCRIPTION: Pair of ornate bronze compotes, each set atop a marble columns on a bronze base. Each compote has grapevine designs starting with the handles and extending to the sides framing an image on one side of three putti drinking from a goblet and on the other of two putti eating grapes with a large cat. Undersides of compote bowls each feature further grapevine designs and each has a ribbed base. Each marble column has eight sides-four flat, four concave- and is embellished with a gilt bronze decoration toward its top. Gilt bronze base features a foliage design with ribbed feet.
