Pair of French Restauration Silver Braziers

second quarter 19th century, Paris, by Charles Antoine Amand Lenglet (1791-1855), first standard (.950) silver, each of circular form with a reeded rim above a deep reticulated bowl centering a charcoal burner with reticulated cap and pendant cedar cone, raised on three large palmettes joined by a flat triangular stretcher and supporting carved ebony handles above spherical feet.
h. 6-1/2", dia. 7-1/4", w. 9-1/2"; 45.21 total t. oz. (including ebony handles)
Condition Report: In generally good used condition. A few dents on the flat stretchers making them less than perfectly concave arches. Two of the wooden handles have fine cracks at the top, near the squared handle, but these have been well-repaired and are structurally sound; one of these has a 1/8" shallow rabbet at the top of the mount. There is likewise a 1-1/4" long raised compression dent in the silver rim above mount of the other cracked handle (probably a result of the piece having been dropped on that handle). Otherwise, no issues noted beyond the expected bumps and wear consistent with age. Each piece marked on the stretcher with the Paris large guarantee mark in use 1819-1838 and on the reticulation with the first standard "vieillard" mark in use 1819-1838 and the "CAL" maker's mark of Charles A.A. Lenglet; the maker's mark repeated on the underside of the burner lids.
