Pair of German Imperial photographs including: 1.) Retouched photograph of full standing German World War I soldier measuring 15.5" x 12" (sight) and is housed in frame measuring 24" x20.5" Image shows a full standing German soldier in uniform wearing spiked helmet, cartridge belt, and holding rifle. Subject is identified in ink below image as Gottfried Thorn who died in Russia on August 11th. Mat to image exhibits some staining . 2.) Heavily colored image of German horse artillery soldier. Image measures 18.5" x 15.5 (sight) and is housed in frame measuring 21.25" x 18.5". Cover glass is broken and taped with photo exhibiting some fading. Provenance: Eugene T.
