Pair of Ifugao Seated Rice Gods, Bulul
Philippines wood carved seated pair of Bulul figures, each depicted with knees at their chests, arms resting on their knees. Both figures wear loin cloths and have delicately carved details throughout. Narrowly carved almond shaped eyes, protruding triangular noses, with a simple slit mouth. The carver detailed the legs and feet ever so lightly but carried out artistic creativity with almost rock or boulder styled pedestals, could be an indication of solidarity and firm protection.
