Pair of Loom PULLEY CALIPERS Culture Baoulé, Ivory Coast First half of the 20th century Wood and pigments H . : 23. 5; L . : 7. 5; Thickness: 5 cm (for the largest) Couple forming pair of loom pulleys. They are each animated on the upper part of a sculpture in the round depicting a colonist and his wife carrying their child in her arms. They are seated and dressed in ceremonial dress and both wearing black headdresses with yellow square patterns. Their bodies are pigmented red while their mouths, eyes and nails are white. The pupils, the eyebrows are painted black. The stirrup is incised with geometric patterns.
