[ translate ]

Impressive pair of monumental French porcelain palace vases of baluster form, richly decorated with extensive gilt embellishments and hand-painted oval reserves depicting elegantly dressed young women in pastoral landscapes. Each vase features elaborate molded ram's head handles with scrolling gilt ornament, raised floral and foliate garlands, turquoise and pink enamel accents around the flared rim, and finely detailed gilt arabesque decoration throughout. The reverse sides are decorated with paneled gilt striping, while the hand-painted portrait panels display exceptional artistry with soft landscape backgrounds. Executed in the grand French decorative tradition of the late 19th century, these impressive vases combine sculptural modeling, vibrant enamels, and lavish gilding, making them striking examples of high style decorative porcelain
