Pair of Neoclassical / Regency Revival Style 4-Light Silver Plate Candelabra, circa mid 19th century. Each candelabrum features a reeded standard and shaped base, raised on three griffon feet terminating in a molded stepped circular base. They are fitted with a removable four-light conforming canopy. The verso of each is stamped with a crescent moon enclosing three dots and "3400." Each candelabrum measures approximately 22" tall assembled. In good condition consistent with age and use. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
