Pair of Pre-Columbian beaded necklaces
A nice pair of Pre-Columbian beaded necklaces with central amulets, c. AD 1100 - 1450, each comprised of steatite disc beads in earthen colors each with an avian pendant; one with a calcite toucan the other with a ceramic bird. Each about 15 in (38.1 cm) in length and strung on modern cord and clasp. Ex Oxford, UK private collection.
