Pair of salt cellars / double salt cellar stand in solid silver from the Louis XVI era. Beautiful decorations typical of the 1780s, in a Louis XVI style, both ornate and refined. Cartridges flanked by cherubs playing the trumpet (4 in all for each salt cellar, blank cartridges, except for one with a discreet ‘HRC’ monogram) . They bear the hallmarks of Paris (P under royal crown for the year 1784) , double ‘L’ duty hallmark and silversmith's hallmark. The cobalt blue Baccarat baccarat crystal liner bowls date to the 19th century. The set is in excellent condition, for the discerning collector: no damage to the decorations. Net weight: 236 g (weight of the silver alone) Length: 14. 5 cm Height: 11 cm
