A beautiful pair of Grand Tour obelisks in white marble , inlaid with various oval and lozenge-shaped marble and hardstone specimens such as malachite, tiger's eye, lapis lazuli etc. . Italy. Grand Tour. Late 19th century. Dimensions: H 50. 5cm ; base 12. 5cm x 12cm / each Overall in very good condition, some small traces of wear and use around the edges. Note: these obelisks require to be carefully packed in a large box with padding, to prevent damage. This increases the weight considerably, hence the higher-than-usual shipping costs.
