Pair of plaques, one Graeco-Roman & other Celtic
A pair of plaques, one Graeco-Roman and the other Celtic. The first is a Graeco-Roman lead curse plaque, c. 2nd Century BC - 2nd Century AD, with several lines of Greek texts scratched into either side, 2 1/8 x 1 5/8 in (5.4 x 4.2 cm). The second is part of a Celtic bronze plaque, c. 3rd - 1st Century BC, with the incised head of a man facing to left, 18.5 x 24 mm. Both with visible details, the lead with some age cracking and both with mounting holes. An interesting lot! Ex Peter Cheremisinoff collection, NJ.
