French living room furniture in carved mahogany Louis XV style. Stamped JEANSELME, stamp active from 1840 to 1853. Signature of the upholsterer Jules Carsin from 1847. Contemporary upholstery, from a later period, made with a silk and striped cotton fabric.

The Jeanselme family were an important house of cabinetmakers who were active from 1824 to 1930. They were the main producers of furniture under the reign of Louis Philippe and Napoleon III.
