Moore's father manufactured for tiffany and upon retirement left edward moore in charge at the young age of 24. In 1868 tiffany incorporated and bought the moore company, making moore a tiffany director and chief designer and head of silverware operation. With his travels, he experienced many exotic cultures and art which significantly impacted his designs. After his death, his true genius was fully acknowledged and he as then called "a prince of silversmiths. . . . Easily the foremost silversmith in the united states. This pattern was patented in the year 1871 and features a fiddle shaped handle, a stylized palm, and a thread border. This set includes: 12 dinner size knives, 10 1/4"12 dinner size forks, 8"12 regular knives, 9 1/4"12 regular/dessert forks, 7 1/8"12 teaspoons, 6 1/4"11 breakfast knives, flat handle all-sterling, 7 1/2"2 serving spoons, 8 1/2"1 cold meat fork, 9"1 flat handle master butter, 7 1/4" includes bonus brand new storage chest - styles vary. Excellent condition, with no monograms. This set will be beautifully professionally polished and sealed in individual plastic sleeves prior to shipping.
